Please join the National Humanities Center and Felicia Cooper at In the Heart of the Beast Theater for The Archive of Significant Objects, an art installation, pop-up museum, and community-curated exhibit of personally significant objects and stories. Taking place in the lobby of the theater, this event will be punctuated by live music, object performance, and tours of the archive.
In a pop-up museum, Felicia presents the inaugural public viewing of the Archive of Significant Objects. This is a community-curated cabinet of curiosities and a smattering of objects made significant through personal experience. Using items collected from members of the community, this temporary museum examines our relationship to things by first displaying the assembled items for contemplation, then incorporating them into an original puppet show and object performance set to music.

HOBT Quick Links
Throughout the last year, HOBT put plans in place to ensure an abundant future for our organization – prioritizing equity and fairness, employing more artists, reaching more audiences, and embracing guidance from the communities we serve. This work is the foundation of our bridge to an artistically rich, vibrant, and financially sound future for HOBT.
We have an audacious capacity-building goal: Raise $300,000 by June 2025.
You believe in the power of puppets to bring joy, resilience, and wonder to the world. Together we can build a bridge to HOBT’s future while maintaining our deep connection to past puppetry brilliance.
