It is an exciting time to be behind the scenes at In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theater! HOBT is moving towards toward a capital campaign to raise funds to renovate the Avalon Theater and move the organization into its next chapter. The Board of Directors is currently seeking applications for individuals interested in helping make these big dreams a reality. Poised to support the HOBT staff and artists as they craft a new vision for the next generation, the Board is tasked with insuring that our new path stays true to HOBT’s mission and best serves our neighbors. If you have skills and an interest in community-based programming, long-range planning, finance, budgeting, fund-raising, marketing, the legal field, or neighborhood issues, please consider joining our Board of Directors.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, though our next cycle for review will begin on October 31st, 2017 with board service for new directors beginning on January 1st, 2018. MayDay Parade and Ceremony Production Manager
Work starts minimally in the fall/winter, ramps up in early spring and winds down in May

The Production Manager works with the MayDay Artistic Director and keeps the MayDay artistic process running smoothly and on schedule. This includes overseeing personnel and logistics for the Mayday Parade and Tree of Life Ceremony as well as maintaining relationships with scores of artists and volunteers who build and enact various elements of the parade and ceremony. The Production Manager makes sure artists have a healthy work environment, get signed contracts, are paid on time and have the resources they need. The Production Manager maintains budgets, contact lists, calendars, and checklists to ensure tasks are assigned and completed. The Production manager coordinates permitting, street closures, parking restrictions, security and other needs along the parade route.
Qualifications: No specific qualifications are required to apply for this position. While we do not expect any candidate to have mastery of every skill needed for this position, the Production Manager will have a wide range of responsibilities. Candidates should use their cover letter to address items on this list for which they are most and least qualified.
