In the Heart of the Beast
Join HOBT and our partners Free Black Dirt (Erin Sharkey, Junauda Petrus-Nasah, and Lisa Brimmer) for informal gatherings as we enter a time of metamorphosis to shape a more equitable and resilient MayDay.
Together we’ll dive into:
— How we came to the decision to take a year off from producing MayDay and why we think this is the BEST way to ensure a healthy future for the MayDay Celebration
— The work of the new MayDay Council, who we hope will be on that team, and how you can shape the future of MayDay by nominating folxs in your community to the MayDay Council
— Your questions! If you missed our public meeting, have questions or concerns about the future of MayDay, this is the time to connect in person
5 sessions are planned throughout the MayDay Council nomination period:
Sep 26th 11am-1pm: Tea & Treats
Oct 1st 11am-1pm: Tea & Treats
Oct 4th 4pm-6pm: Happy Hour
Oct 10th 8am-10am: Coffee & bagels
Oct 15th 11am-1pm: Tea & Treats
Nominations are open for the new MayDay Council!
Over a two-year term, the MayDay Council will partner with HOBT in designing a new approach to the planning and production of future MayDay events based on principles of equity, justice, and collaboration.
