This hands-on workshop focuses on Manual Cinema’s approach to storytelling and their “live cinema” techniques. Participants will learn how the company creates shows from story idea to full production, then move onstage to experience the “behind-the screens” staging from an original Manual Cinema projection. Each participant will devise a short, narrative show of their own using the company’s equipment and puppets, perform these shows for each other, followed by discussion and critique.

Participation limited to 24 — RSVP to reserve your seat

Meet Flo and Louise, living in the modern-day Rust Belt. Elderly Flo is a former supervisor at a once-thriving local auto plant, while young Louise is laid off when the same plant closes. They meet, and an unlikely relationship grows. Intercut with commercials and TV programs, The End of TV follows their quest for meaning as two sides of the American dream live out in modern times-its technicolor promise delivered through ads and its failure, witnessed in the dark reality of industrial decline
