| June 8th and August 24th 9:30am-12:00pm | Fairy Flower Parade | Have you ever dreamed of dancing through a flower-filled garden as a fabulous fairy? Do you and your children love to learn about the wonders of flowers and the joys of art-making? Join In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre Staff along with Naturalists from the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden in this creative exploration of the magic of the Wildflower Garden and your imagination! | June 10-14th 10:30am-12:30pm | Los Viejitos y Los Diablos (the Old Men and the Devils). | This class combines dance, theater and mask making. Students will learn and dance a traditional Latin American dance using their masks and basic costumes. | $100 | Ages 8-12 | |
| June 10-26 7-10pm | Puppet Projectionistas | Digital magic and wizardry – projected large. A collaboration with Minneapolis Art on Wheels brings lo-fi hand animation techniques into the digital world with large and small video projectors. Mobile and guerrilla, we will reclaim space with light. | June 17-21 9-10:30am | Los Pollitos (Baby Chicks) | Animal masks, chicken puppets, rainbow rabbits! In each class, we'll have a brief puppet and story hour, followed by a hands-on puppet project that the parent and child can work on together. | June 17-21 7pm-9pm | Solstice Stilt 'n' Spin Summer Camp | The Stilt 'n' Spin Summer Camp at HOBT will give youth and adults the opportunity to learn how to stilt walk and fire-spin (without the fire!) in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. We will celebrate the Summer Solstice with a performance at the end of the week. | $100 | Ages 9 and up | |
| June 24-28 10:00-11:30am | Fabric Funhouse | Keep your mind, hands, and body busy in the Fabric Funhouse! Participants will play with movement, shadows, and fabric to create an interactive landscape of their choosing. No sewing skills required - we will be exploring many different ways to create with fabric, many of them movement-based! This summer camp will culminate in a collaboratively created performance for family and friends. | $75 | Ages 5-8 | |

| July 8-12 9am-12pm | Shadow Puppet Cinema | Are you ready for your close-up? In this camp we will adapt the visual language of cinema: panning, zooming, and special effects to tell blockbuster stories on the shadow screen. We will use a wide-range of light sources, from candle light to overhead projectors. The camp will culminate in a screening complete with popcorn, Twizzlers, movie theater seating and Hollywood moguls. | Ages 9-12 | ||

| July 15-19 9am-12pm | The Hero's Hand | We will practice puppet sculpting and stitching skills to craft "hand and mouth" style puppets. Each day we will also practice puppeteering, creating stories of how our hands and mouths can be helpful in our world. Participants will leave with their very own wonderful puppet and the critical thinking skills to question "expert" opinion and crowd mentality. | $160 | Ages 14-17 | |
| August 5-9 (1-3pm) and 12-16 (10:45-12:45pm) | Fractured Fairy Tale Theatre | Bring your imagination and all your wild ideas to this class. It's a brand new collaboration with the Loft and In the Heart of the Beast Puppet Theatre. We will learn some of the tools that professional poets use and then we will rewrite history, by creating our own group poem that "fractures" a well known fairy tale. After our poem is ready we will form groups to design and build a small toy theatre stage, make 2D puppets and bring the poem to life through our own ingenuity and the techniques that we'll learn. | August 12-16 9am-3pm | Culture Camp | Become a modern day Renaissance kid! Explore the worlds of theater, printmaking, dance, puppetry and book arts at five leading arts organizations. Spend a day at each center: Minnesota Center for Book Arts, the Children's Theatre Company, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, Highpoint Center for Printmaking, and Zenon Dance School. Work with artist-instructors at each site to create hands-on projects, performances and more! Friends and family are invited to a presentation at each location each day at 2:45pm.
